Part 1 Al 1-4 Ist couple lead through 2nd couple and cast up to place, 5-8 Ist couple set to each other, twice, A2 1-8 Ist couple lead down center through 3rd couple, cast up middle place and set BI 1-8 Ist and 3rd couples right hands-across, and left back. B2 1-8 1st and 2nd couples circular hey, four changes, beginning with partner. Part II Al 1-4 Ist man set to 3rd woman a turn two-hangs while 1st woman the same to 2nd man, 5-8 1st couple turn two-hands, A2 1-8 As in Al, but to the other corners, Bl 1-4 1st man lead 2nd and 3rd woman out a double, change hands and lead back while 1st woman lead the other men out and back, 5-8 1st couple turn two-hands once-and-a-half, B2 1-4 1st man lead men out a double, change hangs and lead back while 1st Woman lead the Women 5-8 Ist couple turn two-hands down the center to bottom place while 2nd couple turn two-hands at the top and 3rd couple cast up to middle place, Repeat dance twice more.

Miss Sparks was the rumored mistress of Rear-Admiral Edward Hawke, who had
presided over several well-publicized courts-martial in 1750 shortly before this dance
appeared. Her portrait was linked with his, called “Admiral Sternpost,”
