Pat Shaw 1962
Duple Minor longways
Tune: La Linboulaier or Lilli Burlero
1st Figure Al 1—4 Ist couple lead down towards 2nd couple (who face up to acknowledge them), then whole turn single outwards away from each other to place, finishing facing down. A2 1-4 2nd couple lead up towards 1st couple (who acknowledge them), then 3/4 turn single outwards away from each other to place, both couples finishing facing partners. Bl 1-8 All fall back a double, 3/4 cloverleaf turn single away from neighbor moving forward, and back to back right shoulder with neighbor. B2 1-4 All turn neighbor right hand once round. 5-9 Is couple turn right hand once round, then move down outside into 2nd place while 2nd couple turn right hand once round, then move up middle into 1st place. * The original shews a right turn for the 1st Man (after the right hand turn with his partner) into his move down the outside. This we have omitted in line with current practice, but it may be reinstated, it desired, in the interests of authenticity, 2nd Figure A1 1-4 lat corners (lat Man and 2nd Woman) right hand turn once round A2 1-4 Znd corners right hand turn once round. BI 1-8 Let couple croms right shoulder, go down outside into 2nd place and turn right hand once round (ending improper in 2nd place), while 2nd couple wait 2 bars, then move up middle into lst place and turn right hand once round. B2 1-3 1st couple cross right shoulder, and move up outside into 1st place (proper), while 2nd couple wait 1 bar then move down middle into 2nd place. 4-5 Ist and 2nd couples set to each other. 6-9 1st couple long cast down into 2nd place, 2nd couple moving up 3rd Figure Al 1-4 All turn neighbour right hand once round. A2 1-4 All turn neighbour left hand once round. Bl 1-4 1st couple half figure 8 down through 2nd couple. 5—8 Ist couple (improper), facing each other but without taking hands, slip 3 steps down (between 2nd couple) and immediately cast up the middle all the way round 2nd couple (1st Man clockwise, 1st Woman anticlockwise), finishing improper between 2nd couple in a line of 4, all facing up.

Though less accurate, it will be much easier at BI 1—8 for Ist couple to slip 2 steps
down and two steps up before moving up the middle and casting round 2nd couple, who
may follow up and cast onto ends of line of 4, all facing up.
B2 1-4 The line leads up a double and back. 5—8 lst couple cross up, Man handing his partner across in front of him, and long cast down into Ind place, while 2nd couple meet, lead up into lst place and tum single away (Man lets, Woman right).
Pat Shaw's editorial suggestions for making the dance more interesting (3rd Figure Bl & B2).
