Played by Sarah Loughran (fiddle) and Paul Young (D/G melodeon).

About the title
JN: I have no strong recollection why I chose A Fugitive Smile as the name for the dance. In retrospect, I realized it could use some explanation, and for a weekly session of the Stittsville Creative Writers Group wrote the following verses.
A fugitive smile John C Nash 2026 In a deluge of sadness there's sometimes a break Where the sunshine of hope causes joy to awake. When the positive touch of a pet or a friend Says the depth of unhappiness will come to an end. There's a second of difference, a glint in an eye, A fugitive smile. The prayers have been spoken, the eulogy read. The widow in black clothes, her weary eyes red. Friends speak their stories, worn and well-known 'Till a grandson tells of a first ice-cream cone Lips curl just a fraction, almost unseen, A fugitive smile. The train's at the platform, it's ready to go, But two lovers are hugging, both feeling low. They break and he sees there are tears on her cheek, At the door of the carriage her legs feel so weak, A glance and raised eyebrow could almost be missed, A fugitive smile.
