The Royal Hunters ~~ Walsh cl48 (2nd Tne: The Hart in the Wood Composed by David to complete this musical “tour de force". 3. The Bishop Thompson I778 Original Tine Usually danced, as directed in “The Apted Book", to Miss Dolland's Delight (Side 2 Band 3). The original tune, however, In 6/8 gives the dance a less formal feel (b) 2nd tune: Bishop Cross’ Memorial Composed by David as a memorial to friend and erstwhile BBC Producer in the North Region. 4 Heather Towers Modem A dance was written by the contemporary Dancing Master John Lagden to celebrate the 70th birthday of Alan Heather (father-in-law to David), with music by David. The title derives from friends’ name for the Heathers’ house in Hemel Hempstead. ( 2nd tune: Stone Street (also composed by David) Alan Heather lived at 35 Stone Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne, until 1935. 5. The Charmer Kynaston/Walsh 1717 Jonathan is accompanied by a quartet of David's violins. 6. Rest Assurecd Modern This is a new dance composed in 1988 by Dancing Master Tom Cook to a tune from Brian Jenkins, a member of The Cracknels Band, all of whom are members of the Neston Folk Dance Group. 1. Stately fo the tune “Jack Pudding”) Playford 1651 The assembly of all the pieces to this regal tune, 2. Roxburgh Castle Traditional A north Country "Rant" step dance for the Castles. (ty 2nd Tne: Arthur's Seat Traditional 3. The Bishop (to the tune “Miss Dolland’s Delight") Thompson 1765 The dance Is Thompson 1778. (b) 2nd Tne: General Hill's Favourite Traditional The Bells suitably echo the ecclesiastical flavour of this dance for the Bishops. 4. The Baffled Knight Modern Maggot Pie 1932 This whimsical arrangement reverses all the parts. The Piano takes the tune whilst the violins provide a plucked rhythm for the Knights (Hobby Horses) to joust. 5. The Queen's Jig Playford 1701 This stateliest of rhythms is entirely consistent with the regal steps for the King, Queen and all the court to complete the Divertissement. 6. From Aberdeen Playford 1698 This arrangement features a quartet of violins with the piano. 7. Jacob Hall's Jig Playford 1695 Again the original tune, not used by Sharp who preferred the dance to the tune “Under and Over". (B 2nd tune: Major Jacob Hall Tune by David - a musical whim, the tune being a variation of the original but in a major key.
