Al 1-4 1w, followed by her partner, dances counterclockwise halfway
        around the outside of the set, while the other couples circle left halfway;
   5-8 4W and 2M (the 1's original neighbors) open the ring to allow the

Repeat three more times, each couple leading the figure in turn from the top place.
Teaching Tips: An area to emphasize in teaching this dance is the identification of the
active couple’s neighbors, who must “break the ring” to allow the actives to join in. The
“eeyore” figure is a variation of the California twirl: the couple starts facing each other,
man’s right hand joined to woman's left; the woman continues to face the center and
balance forward and back while the man goes three-quarters clockwise around her to end
side-by-side, facing into the center of the set. Antony suggests that in the B1 music, bars 5-
8, the actives can fill out the music before the set and honor by taking four bars for their
“eeyore.” (Note: this numbering of the couples in the canon figure above varies from that
published in Antony’s book, which he says with apologies is incorrect.)

Antony wrote this apes for his wife Jennifer on the occasion of their silver wedding in
1990. It was inspired by the Winnie the Pooh  stories by AA. Milne. In Al, Pooh and Piglet go
round the 100-acre wood in the snow treading in their own footprints. In A2, there is the
search for Small; everyone goes off in different directions. In BI, Pooh visits Rabbit, has too
much to eat, gets stuck and has to be pulled out. In B2, Christopher Robin takes Pooh up to
an Enchanted Place at the top of the wood and knights him
